Gautam Gambhir Statement on Karun Nair: Before the Indian team left for the England tour, head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Shubman Gill held a press conference in Mumbai. During this, Gambhir praised veteran batsman Karun Nair, who has returned to Team India after a long time. Nair scored a lot of runs in domestic cricket in the last few years, for which he has now been rewarded by the BCCI. Gambhir clearly said that players who score runs in domestic cricket will continue to get opportunities.

Let us tell you that right-handed batsman Nair played his last Test match for India against Australia in 2017. After 10 years, Nair has managed to make his place in Team India’s squad. Before the start of the series against England, Nair showed excellent form in the unofficial Test against England Lions and earned a lot of praise by scoring a double century. Now his chances of being a part of Team India’s playing 11 in this series have also increased.

Talking about Nair, Gambhir said,
“It is good to have the experience of Karun Nair in this series, who has played county. He has performed well there and scored runs and scored a double century. It is a good thing to have in-form players in the squad on such a difficult tour. His experience will definitely be useful for the team and it is expected that he will perform well for the team.”

Continuing his point, Gambhir further said that the most important thing is that we will not judge any player on the basis of performance in one or two matches. We will not do this. I think if a player has scored a lot of runs recently, he should get more opportunities at this level, so that he can show his talent.
