After Australia piled up a massive 556 runs in the first innings, Dravid’s extraordinary double century anchored India’s response of 523 runs. In the second innings, Ajit Agarkar spearheaded the bowling attack with a sensational six-wicket haul, limiting Australia to just 196.
Chasing a target of 230, India overcame a few nervous moments, with Dravid guiding the chase with an unbeaten 72. His all-round brilliance earned him the Man of the Match award.
2. 6 December 2008
India’s second test victory in Adelaide came 15 years later after their first. It was in the first test of the 2018/19 series.
Pujara led India’s batting with scores of 123 and 71 in the match, while Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and R Ashwin starred in the bowling department sharing 17 wickets between them.
India won the test on the last day by a close margin of 31 runs.
