Leading from the front yet again, Shubman Gill followed up his brilliant century at Headingley with an even more dominant performance in the second match of the series. With the pressure on, the skipper rose to the occasion and pushed India into a commanding position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Displaying remarkable control and composure, Shubman Gill kept the English bowlers at bay throughout his innings. After scoring 147 in the first Test, he had expressed disappointment at not converting it into a bigger knock. This time, he made sure to go all the way \u2014 first raising his bat for a century, then cruising past 150, and finally bringing up his first-ever double hundred in the longest format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In doing so, Shubman Gill etched his name into the history books. He became the first Asian Test captain to score a double ton in SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand, Australia) conditions.
