Gautam Gambhir Celebrates India’s “Fearless” Super Four Display

India head coach Gautam Gambhir took to Instagram to applaud his team’s dominant performance against Pakistan in the Super Four stage. Once again, Suryakumar Yadav and his men proved too strong, with Pakistan unable to match India’s intensity.
Chasing 172 on Sunday, India openers Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma took control with a scintillating 105-run partnership. Abhishek smashed 74 off 39 balls, including six fours and five sixes, while Gill contributed 47 off 28 balls, guiding India to 174/4 in just 18.5 overs.
Gautam Gambhir shared a series of Instagram stories—first highlighting Abhishek and Gill, followed by the celebrating Indian team—captioning each with a single word: “Fearless.”

Shubman Gill’s partner, Abhishek Sharma, also addressed the heated exchanges and Pakistan’s verbal jabs, posting on social media: “You talk, we win.”
After being named Player of the Match, Abhishek Sharma explained his ultra-aggressive approach during India’s chase against Pakistan. He said he did not appreciate the Pakistani bowlers’ unnecessary chirping and felt attacking them was the best way to respond. “Today was pretty simple, the way they were coming out to us without any reason, I did not like it at all. That is why I went after them. I wanted to deliver for the team,” he said during the post-match presentation.
With this victory, India began their Super Four campaign on a high. Following a dominant seven-wicket win over Pakistan in the group stage, this time Pakistan posted 171/5 in 20 overs, thanks to Sahibzada Farhan’s 58 off 45 balls, featuring five fours and three sixes. Yet India faced no difficulty in chasing the target, reaching it with seven balls to spare, once again asserting their superiority over their arch-rivals.
