Suryakumar Yadav once again snubs Pakistan while discussing India’s hard-fought victory over Oman in the Asia Cup 2025.
Suryakumar’s Subtle Snub Continues

India captain Suryakumar Yadav once again refused to acknowledge Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025, as he avoided naming the arch-rival during his post-match chat following a narrow 21-run win over Oman in their final Group A clash at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. With this victory, the Men in Blue topped Group A and will now face Pakistan in their opening Super 4s fixture at the Dubai International Stadium.
At the post-match presentation, former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar directly asked Suryakumar about once again playing against Pakistan. However, the Indian captain’s brief four-word response underlined that the camp remains unfazed and is not thinking about their next opponents at all.
Here’s how the conversation between Suryakumar Yadav and Sanjay Manjrekar went:
During the post-match interaction, Sanjay Manjrekar asked, “All set for Sunday’s match against Pakistan?” To which India captain Suryakumar Yadav replied, “All set for Super Four.”
The remark comes after the Group Stage clash between India and Pakistan was marred by controversy. Following India’s seven-wicket win in Dubai, no member of the Indian contingent shook hands with Pakistan. The PCB sent multiple emails to the ICC, requesting the removal of match referee Andy Pycroft, alleging he failed to uphold the spirit of cricket.
The match was played in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. Suryakumar dedicated the victory to the Indian Armed Forces, emphasizing the team’s solidarity with the victims of the attack, where 26 lives were lost.
Suryakumar demotes himself to No.11

India captain Suryakumar Yadav demoted himself to No.11 as India posted 188/8 in their allotted twenty overs against Oman. The Men in Blue were pushed hard, with Oman finishing at 167/4, giving India a scare before ultimately falling 21 runs short.
Sanju Samson was named Player of the Match for his 56-run knock off 45 balls, including 3 fours and 3 sixes.
For the contest, India made two changes to their playing XI, bringing in Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana in place of Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakaravarthy. “It’s a little difficult when you’re sitting and suddenly you come out and play. It’s so humid here,” added Suryakumar.
