India clinched their second consecutive ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup title by defeating South Africa by nine wickets in Kuala Lumpur on February 2, Sunday.
The ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, which debuted in 2023, has proven to be a huge success, significantly contributing to the growth of women’s cricket worldwide. It has provided young female cricketers the opportunity to compete at a high level.
The 2025 edition was particularly competitive, with India, England, South Africa, and Australia advancing to the semi-finals after strong performances in both the group stage and Super Six rounds.
In the final, India delivered a stellar bowling performance, dismissing South Africa for just 82 runs. Gongadi Trisha led the charge with 3/15, supported by Parunika Sisodia’s brilliant 2/6.
India easily chased down the target, securing a nine-wicket victory. Gongadi Trisha was the standout performer again, remaining unbeaten on 44 off 33 balls to seal the win.
ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025: Most runs
Gongadi Trisha concluded a stellar tournament, finishing as the highest run-scorer with 309 runs. England’s Davina Perrin, who scored a half-century against the USA, secured second place with 176 runs. Indian opener G. Kamalini followed closely with 143 runs.
Australian top-order batter Caoimhe Bray and South African opener Jemma Botha rounded off the list, scoring 119 and 105 runs, respectively.

South African spinner Kayla Reyneke took third place, with 11 wickets to her name. India’s Parunika Sisodia and Australia’s Hasrat Gill completed the top five, both taking 10 wickets each.
