Rishabh Pant was dismissed for just 7 runs in the LSG vs SRH match. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) faced off against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 61 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Monday, May 19. The game took place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to bowl first. LSG skipper Rishabh Pant once again failed to make an impact with the bat, getting out cheaply. Coming in at number 3, Pant managed only 7 runs off 6 balls before being dismissed by Eshan Malinga.
LSG openers Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram gave the team a flying start, both scoring half-centuries and putting together an impressive opening partnership of 115 runs. Later, Nicholas Pooran contributed 45 runs, helping LSG post a total of 205/7 on the board.

The LSG captain has managed to score only 135 runs in 11 innings, with a disappointing batting average of 12.27. He has registered just one half-century in the tournament and has been dismissed for single-digit scores in most matches. Pant was the most expensive player at the IPL 2025 mega auction, where LSG secured him for INR 27 crore.
Under Pant’s leadership, LSG has also struggled with consistency. Out of the 11 matches played, they have won five and lost six. With 10 points, they currently sit in seventh place on the points table. They are in a tight race with Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC) for a spot in the playoffs.
