Ravichandran Ashwin is regarded as one of the finest spin-bowling all-rounders to have represented India. The veteran off-spinner claimed 537 wickets across 200 Test innings, while also taking 156 wickets in ODIs and 72 wickets in T20Is. Throughout his career, the Tamil Nadu cricketer featured prominently for the national team across all three formats, although he was increasingly seen as a Test specialist in the latter stages of his international journey.
While Ravichandran Ashwin has retired from international cricket, he continues to compete in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the IPL 2025 season, he is part of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) squad. The franchise secured his services for INR 9.75 crores during the IPL 2025 mega auction, making him their second costliest acquisition.
