Winning the toss and batting first in the match, Punjab Kings scored a total of 245 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Shreyas Iyer scored 82 and Prabhsimran Singh scored 42 runs for Punjab. After this, Hyderabad easily achieved this target by losing 2 wickets in 18.3 overs.
