6 & 5 Virat Kohli And Nicholas Pooran
Before the mega auction of IPL, many players were retained by paying a huge amount. Virat Kohli was retained by Royal Challengers Bangalore and Nicholas Pooran by Lucknow Super Giants by paying Rs 21-21 crore. The salary of both of them is more than the amount of about Rs 20 crore that the Champions Trophy winner is going to get.

LSG broke Punjab’s record soon after and made Rishabh Pant the most expensive player in IPL history. Pant was bought for an amount of Rs 27 crore.
