Meg Lanning to Lead Delhi Capitals in WPL 2025
The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 is set to begin on February 14, 2025. The previous editions of the tournament have been instrumental in boosting the popularity of women’s cricket in India.
WPL 2025 will feature five teams: Delhi Capitals (DC), Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), UP Warriorz (UPW), and Gujarat Giants (GG).
Delhi Capitals have been one of the most consistent teams in WPL, finishing first in the league stage in both 2023 and 2024. However, they fell short in the finals, losing to MI in 2023 and RCB in 2024.
DC will kick off their WPL 2025 campaign against MI on Saturday, February 15, at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.
Last season, the Australian duo of Meg Lanning and Jess Jonassen were standout performers for DC, with Lanning scoring 347 runs and Jonassen taking 11 wickets.
Delhi Capitals Venues for WPL 2025
Delhi Capitals will compete across four venues in WPL 2025: Vadodara, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Mumbai. They will begin with three league matches in Vadodara, followed by four games in Bengaluru. The team will then head to Lucknow for one match before finishing their league stage in Mumbai.
